Il cartone narra la storia di un
ragazzino di 10 anni, Timmy Turner e dei suoi
bizzarri amici, i cui genitori (in particolare
quelli di Timmy) lavorano e quindi hanno poco
tempo da dedicare loro. Quando loro non ci sono, a
far da baby-sitter a Timmy e gli altri bambini è
Vicky, una ragazza perfida, malvagia e
cattiva.
Un giorno arrivano per Timmy due
fantagenitori, Cosmo e Wanda. I fantagenitori sono
delle fate che possono esaudire i desideri del
bambino a cui vengono assegnati (in questo caso,
Timmy), anche se alcuni desideri sono proibiti
dalle regole, scritte in un libro chiamato \"Da
Rules\". I fantagenitori arrivano dal Fantamondo,
un luogo magico dove vivono creature dotate di
magia. Capita quasi sempre che i desideri di Timmy
causino parecchi guai e Timmy stesso, alla fine,
annulla il desiderio.
Le avventure della serie
si svolgono a Dimmsdale, città immaginaria dove
vive Timmy. A sapere dei Fantagenitori è anche il
suo maestro, il signor Denzel Crocker, terribile e
severo con gli alunni, ossessionato
dall'esistenza dei Fantagenitori. Se qualcuno
venisse a sapere che Timmy ha dei fantagenitori,
lui li perderebbe per sempre, perciò Timmy, Cosmo
e Wanda fanno di tutto affinché Crocker non abbia
mai le prove della loro esistenza.
La serie si
connota come una simpatica e graffiante - seppur
in toni leggeri - satira della società americana
e dei suoi ritmi iper-accelerati, che rendono
sempre più difficile il rapporto fra creature
magiche, amici, conoscenti, genitori e
figli.

The cartoon tells the
story of a boy of 10 years, Timmy Turner and his
quirky friends, whose parents (especially Timmy)
work and thus have little time for them. When they
are not, to baby-sit other children and to Timmy

sympathetic and scathing - albeit in a light tone
- satire of American society and its
hyper-accelerated pace, making it increasingly
difficult relationship between magical creatures,
friends, acquaintances, parents and
children.
